Bridge & Beacon runs on the power of community. Whether you donate to fund a scholarship, volunteer as a mentor, or partner with us as a local business, you become part of the Circle of Support. Help us equip single‑parent households with the tools, guidance, and hope they deserve. Together, we can turn obstacles into opportunities – one family at a time.

We focus on two interconnected populations. First, youth & students ages 5–24 – from early learners building reading skills to first‑generation college students navigating financial aid. Second, the Circle of Support – single parents, guardians, educators, and mentors who shape a child’s world. When we lift up both the young person and the adults around them, real change takes root.
Before Bridge & Beacon, my daughter Jaylen was falling behind in reading, and I didn’t have the time or money for a tutor. Between my two jobs, helping her with homework felt impossible. Then her mentor, Ms. Rivera, started meeting with her twice a week – first at the library, then online. Within four months, Jaylen jumped two grade levels in literacy. But the real gift? She stopped saying ‘I’m dumb.’ Now she reads to her little brother every night. Bridge & Beacon didn’t just help my child learn – they helped her believe in herself.
single mother of two
As a single dad raising a teenage son with anxiety, I felt like I was failing every day. Marcus was shutting down at school and refusing to talk to me. Then we found Bridge & Beacon. The family advocate helped us get stable childcare for my younger daughter, so I could keep working. And Marcus joined the Creative Arts program – something he’d never tried. Within weeks, he was coming home with clay figures and later, his first oil painting. His art teacher became his mentor, and for the first time in years, Marcus is excited about the future. Bridge & Beacon gave us a lifeline when we were drowning.
Single Father
After my divorce, I didn’t know how to apply for housing assistance or finish my GED while working nights. Bridge & Beacon’s community navigator sat with me for hours – helping me fill out forms, find legal resources for child support, and even covering bus passes so I could get to my job. They also connected me to a financial literacy coach, and I finally opened my first savings account. My son, Elijah, got a scholarship navigation mentor who helped him apply for college. Next fall, he’ll be the first in our family to attend a university. Two generations, one organization – that’s Bridge & Beacon.
Single Mother of Three
Academic opportunity alone isn’t enough. Family stability alone isn’t enough. That’s why Bridge & Beacon addresses the four essential drivers of long‑term success: education, household security, emotional development, and resource access. By supporting the child and the parent together, we help families build resilience that spans generations. Our impact isn’t measured in one‑time help – it’s measured in transformed futures.
